If you are looking for unspoiled river to do angling Babai River of mid-western region of Nepal is best destination. Located in most beautiful valley of Nepal, Babai Valley, Babai river is recently opened for fishing in 2011 for the people with legal permission from Bardiya National Park. Babai River flows amid of Bardiya National Park and houses more than 50 species of fishes including Golden Masheer (Tor Putitora) and Bullseye Snakehead (Channa marulius) and other species like Goonch (Bagarius yarelli) and Indian Trout Barb (Raiamas bola).

Angling in Babai River gives you tremendous experience of fishing, rafting and jungle safari. The river flowing amid lush forest of protected area of Bardiya National park also provide glimpse of wild animals rhinoceros, tiger, like greater, one-horned, Himalayan black bear, sloth bear, four-horned antelope, wild Asian elephant ,four species of deer (Samber, spotted, hog and barking deer), ghoral, leopard, and a large number of small mammals.

Along with rare animals Bardiya National park also houses various species of reptiles, amphibians, mollusks, arthropods. While rafting, we will also get glimpse of icrocodiles, gharial and mugger and over 50 species of fish.

As is recently opened for fishing and restricted without permit, you have chances of making more catch. The famous spots for fishing in Babai River are Chepang, and different camps inside Bardiya National Parks. The six days Fishing trips stars with sightseeing of UNESCO listed world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley followed by 40 minute flight to Nepalgunj next day and two hour drive to starting point Chepang.

During three days angling we will enjoy peaceful surroundings with creeping of birds, murmuring and continuous soft sound of river and fresh breeze coming from river and pristine vegetation. You will make catch of Golden Masheer and Goonch of up to 3-4 kg but Babai River has record of catching 15 kg fish. As Babai River is in restricted area we will be accompanied by guide assigned from Bardiya National Park.

Most importantly we promote "Catch and Release “principle as some of the species of fishes are on verge of extinction.

Trip Itinerary

Day

Kathmandu Arrival

Upon your arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will be welcomed warmly by representative from Real Adventure Nepal Tour and Travel and transfer to the hotel in hearth of Kathmandu. After check in Hotel, freshen you up and have some rest. If you have spare time you can walk around your hotel and get to know with location. In evening profession la tour guide visits you and give briefing about Kathmandu valley tour tomorrow and suggests necessary preparation for angling trip. Overnight in Hotel.

Day

Full day Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour.

After breakfast, a professional tour guide comes to your hotel with luxurious car. Firstly, we move to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the ancient royal palace of Kantippur district before unification of Nepal. In Kathmandu Durbar Square we explore grandeur craftsmanship portrayed in ancient palace temples and statues. jaw-dropping beauty of wood craving, brick and stone work makes you spellbound. We will visit museum. Kumari-Ghar (house of living virgin goddesses Kumari), Kasthamandap temple made of up wood from single-tree, Hanuman (monkey god) Dhoka (door), giant Kalbhairabh temple and other religious shrines and historical monuments. After Kathmandu Durbar Square, we move to another historical Hindu as well as Buddhist temple Swayabhnath from where we enjoy aerial view of Kathmandu valley. Also known as the Monkey Temple Swayambhunath houses museum of primeval fossils of animal and religious statues. After Swayambhunath, we move to famous Hindu temple Pashupatinath and largest Buddhist Stupa, Boudhhanath.

Day

Fly to Nepalgunj, drive to Chepang, Rafting and Fishing in Camp 1.

Today we catch first flight to Nepalgunj. Forty minutes scenic flight give us glimpse of snowcapped peaks of Annapurna range, green hills of Mahabharat range and lurid faming terraces. Upon arriving Nepalgunj airport we will meet other members and drive for two hours to reach to starting point of fishing and start rafting with fishing. Having Lunch in Chepang we will raft for 3 hours and angling in Babai river until we reach to Camp 1. As golden Mahseer is active in night, we can set our fishing rod and enjoy fishing in evening also. Overnight in Camp 1.

Day

Rafting and fishing to Camp 2.

Generally, we can star angling from very morning before we have breakfast. Moring time id best time to get glimpse of wild animals. After breakfast we start rafting in Babai river and enter into the thickest forest where Babai river gets deeper. While rafting we continue fishing and get encounter with wild animals. After few hours we meet our cooking crew and enjoy picnic lunch in river bank. After lunch we raft for three hours to reach to Camp 2. Upon arriving in Camp 2 we set our fishing rod and catch Golden Maseer and Goonch, and release back to river. Overnight in Camp 2

Day

Rafting and fishing to Camp 3.

Like yesterday we will continue rafting with fishing for whole day.

Day

Rafting and fishing, put out at Babai Bridge, drive to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu or Jungle Safari in Baridiya Naational Park.

Today is last day of our angling trip. Until lunch time we reach to put out point of Bbabai fishing and get out of Bardiya National Park nearby Babai Bridge and take jeep ride back to Nepalgunj for flying back to Kathmandu. If time allows, we can stay in Thakurdwar and enjoy elephant and jeep safari into Bardiya National Park and enjoy Tharu Cultural shows and food with local indigenous flavor and taste.

Day

Fly back to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj

After breakfast, we take flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. Representative from Real Adventure Nepal Tour and Travel transfers us to hotel. Today we can have guided tour to major cultural Heritage sites including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhhanath. We can also visit Thamel, the tourist hub where we can do souvenir shopping and enjoy food of our choices.

Final Departure

We will manage vehicle according to your flight schedules for airport transfer. Representative from Real Adventure Nepal Tour and Travel bid farewell.
